Punyo is Toyota Research Institute’s research humanoid for soft, whole-body manipulation. It uses compliant air-filled bumpers around its torso and arms, allowing it to embrace, hug, and carry objects against its body, exploring whole-body contact-rich manipulation as opposed to grasp-only paradigms.
